First off I haven't bought any TV's in a long a while. All of my present TV's (a Pioneer and a couple of LG's) use serial control that works well with PowerHome.

It seems like most of the newer and controllable TV's use wired or even wireless IP control via a dedicated app.

My question to this group is: Has anyone directly controlled their TV via IP using PowerHome?

If so, what do the connection and control commands look like from within PowerHome?

I am trying to determine if and how PH will work with a possible new TV by the hob tub.

Update - This particular LGTV DID NOT have serial control.

It didn't have the DB9 connector (which should have been my first clue), but it did have a stereo type jack that was labeled as possible serial control (but it wasn't).

Anyway...end up returning that TV and buying a Sony XBR TV with serial and IP control. Case closed.
