Does Insteon support confirmation of commands, or is there an easy way to implement that in another way?

I'm getting tired of lamps not turning off/on when they should and it seems there is no signal test equipment out there.

I have a macro that compares the current cmd2 against what
I set it to when I sent the off or on or whatever. if it is not equal to that then I correct it. Works like a charm. I do a all lights off using a group number then a couple of minutes later I run my macro to pick up the strays.

Tony,

Yes, Insteon gives a confirmation...on direct commands such as from PowerHome to an Insteon device or a group cleanup. Broadcast commands (typically
group commands which is what is used for device to device communications is unacknowledged).

One thing you'll want to do is make sure that option "Update on ACK" is checked at the top of the Insteon Explorer. When this option is unchecked,
PowerHome just assumes that all commands it sends are successful. If you check this option, PowerHome will only update the Insteon device if an ACK is
received from the device meaning that the command was successful.

Beachbum and others have also implemented routines within PowerHome such as checking the CMD2 return or following a command with a status command.

Dave.
