If I load PH and open the Device Status window, I am not able to close it. The X, minimize/maximize buttons are not present. In fact, the Device Status window seems to be locked in place on the left of the screen and under the tool bars on top of the screen. I cannot resize the window either at the window's corners. If I close PH and then reload it, the Device Status will not be on the screen (which is what should happen).

In the prior version this exact behavior occurred with the PH Status window. In the prior version the Device Status window worked fine. With the new version (.10) the PH Status window works fine but the Device Status window exhibits this bad behavior.

I did not report this previously because it was a cosmetic problem and I did not use the PH Status window enough for this to be annoying.

No issues on my production or experimental box.

Thanks Viper and smarty. That's good to know. I wonder if there is something wrong with my windows XP installation. It's been running for a long time though. I'll run some diagnostics on the registry and see if I come up with anything.

It's not a bug. It's a feature. After checking out everything I could think of, I finally went back to PH setup/Device Status and changed the window type from "Background" to "Windowed" and now it works as the other windows. I won't have even thought of looking there without you guys letting me know that you didn't have problems.
Thanks again.

Noel,

Yep, that was it. It's a hold over from ancient PowerHome times. Not a lot of people use it, but some like it as it's always up and the "background" window cant be closed.

Dave.
