Dave,
First off, thanks for adding support for multiple UIRT's!!

Now, for the problem....
I have installed the second UIRT. According to the windows device manager, it looks like it is working. It has the same driver as the first (working) uirt unit. The only difference I can see using the hardware device manager is the second uirt has an "instance number" that is incremented by 1 from the first uirt (what I would expect).

I have checked and un-checked the controller and re-started multiple times.

The errors says: "USB-UIRT device was not found for Controller USB-UIRT_2. Commands will not be transmitted."

I have deleted and "re-made" this controller a couple of times. What am I missing?

More information...

I was able to verify that both UIRT's are individually functional with PowerHome. I tried different/same USB ports etc.

PH does not seem to be able to connect to both of them at the same time (one or the other, but not both).

Steve,

Try the uurename utility located here: http://www.power-home.com/download/uurename.zip. Give the second USB-Uirt a name different from the first and then use this name in the "Settings" box for the 2nd Uirt. Reinit and give it a try.

Let me know,

Dave.

Edit: It now seems to work.
**************************************************

Here is what I did:
With PH open, I ran the utility. With both UIRT's plugged into my computer, it gave me the message "ERROR: More than one USB-UIRT is currently attached -- please unplug all but one unit and rerun!

So I unplugged one of the UIRT's, shut PH down, closed the utility and re-started from scratch. Again with PH open, now with only one UIRT connected, I ran the utility again. It said: USB-UIRT Found: Identity - "USB-UIRT". Would you like to rename this device [y/n]? I chose "y". I then chose the number 2. The utility renamed the unit. I then followed the instructions (which were fast/hard to see) and then I unplugged the device and reconnected it for the changes to take effect. I then renamed that device in PH's controller area (to match the name that the utility gave the UIRT) and then re-initialized PH.

Upon re-starting PH, I get an error message telling me that: USB-UIRT device was not found for controller USB-UIRT-2.

It should be noted that I completely deleted the 2nd UIRT controller from the PH controller area after getting the first error (about having 2 UIRTs connected). I thought this would be the cleanest way to test out the utility, but it appears that the utility messes up PH's ability to even work with a single UIRT.

CORRECTION - After re-reading your instructions, I changed the UIRT's name in the "Settings" area !!AND!! in the "ID" field. After re-starting PH seemed OK with both controllers (no error messages).

Be sure to check the "enable remote control" and "enable multi-zone" in the "Settings" area for each controller you rename. Forgetting this made me chase my tail for a while .
