This is probably a question for Dave, but I'm posting it here so everyone can benefit from the answer.
My home has a fantastic Insteon Overall Communications score, with hardly an errors ever EXCEPT for my Home Theater IR Link that controls the room lighting and background music enable/disable.
For some reason the Room Lighting fails time after time.
The room light controlling Group Broadcast from "IR LINK Group 12" is often NOT seen by PH but all the other Group Broadcasts from the IR LINK seem to get thru. Go figure.
Anyway, to try and improve reliability I have set up a Trigger to sense the "Group Cleanup from IR LINK" that does always seem to get seen by PH.
Problem is, I have NOT been able to get a trigger off the Cleanup broadcast.
I have the Group 12 event identified to the PLM as an action in the Responders field, so the PLM should see activities associated with Group 12 from the IR Link.
And a Trigger is set for this event (2nd entry)...
Finally, this is the event stream seen by PH...
In the Event Log, the Group 10 Broadcast (last Log entry)should be followed 0.5 sec later by a Group 12 Broadcast (that is never seen), yet the Group Cleanups (top three lines in Event Log) are seen OK.
Thus... two issues, I guess. Why is the original Group 12 broadcast never seen but all others from the IR Link are, and if there is no answer to that question then why can't I get a Trigger off the Group Cleanup?
As an aside Dave. It would be REALLY helpful if there was a way to test Triggers by sending out a simulated command they would see and fire on. It is really hard to test things like this Group Cleanup as they aren't always generated. I'm thinking something like clicking on the "Details" field of the Event Log (which now does seem to be clickable as it highlights when selected). If the data content of that field can then be scrapped and resent as a "Virtual" Insteon command it could fire a Trigger.

Ken,
To fix your trigger, change the "Trigger ID Number" to
"Grp Cleanup - To Any". The way it is defined now it
is looking for a group cleanup "from any" to the IR
LINK.
Not sure why the PLM isnt seeing the group broadcast.
The only thing I can think of is if there is noise or
other insteon communications on the line at the time
the broadcast would be sent. Since it's a broadcast
type command, it's just thrown out on the line without
any checks and it's either heard or it's not.
I'll add your suggestion to "simulate" previous log
entries to the to-do list  .

Thanks Dave.
Didn't quite expect it to be the opposite of the way
that Trigger Types are treated, but I guess it makes
sense.
I look forward to this working at last. I just have
to wait until the normal 'Insteon Group In' effort
fails, and this has a chance to catch things.
It is strange how many times this particular group
broadcast fails, since I am not aware of any other
similar issues and our new home has been remarkable in
its Insteon reliability.
