Recently I find that all of my forum posts are word
wrapped into short lines (as evidenced by this post
where the words are wrapped at the 51st character).

I used to be able to get longer lines in, and I notice
that many posts still can.

I can find no settings for the Post entry form that
would control this. Am I missing something here or has
something been changed in the forum software?

I think it may be CR and LF. I use Word and that generates long lines.

I just created this post by typing continuously and letting the text box split the lines so words were not cut in half. I will post to see if this works for me. The preview did not cut the lines at 51.

EDIT: what browser are you using. I also use Word to spell check but copy back to this window only if I need to fix a spelling error. This is a test of Edit update.

Same thing in my posts when I switched to Google Chrome
as my browser. Switching back to IE and the word wrap
is fine.

Are you using Google Chrome by any chance?

Bazaar!
I have been using Google Chrome for my Browser and since
it has spell check built into it, just editing my
responses right in the Posting Window.

To see if it might be a Chrome issue, I logged out and
tried to login with IE7. I could login but when I treid
to post I get a “You do not have permission to Post”
error message and was immediately logged back out!

I tried three times, always with the same result.

So now I am creating this in Word and will copy/paste it
into the Post window to see what happens.

Here goes.
=====

Well. Well. I see that I am still getting truncated
lines. Everything actually posted matches what I am
seeing in the Post Form edit window, which seems to be
the culprit.

Since for some reason I can't login with IE7, I can't
test much further at the moment.

So it is something to do with direct entry into the
Post Form itself. Since I can't seem to use IE7 I can't
test to see if it is the form or the creating browser.

Anyway. Go Figure .

PS- It may be Chrome that is causing image upload
problems too, now that I think of it. Things started
falling apart just about the time I switched from IE to
Chrome.

Humm!!!!

As I said on your other tread I had similar problems with Chrome. Uninstalling it fixed my issues.
