Me Me Me. I'm running most of my rules and functionality through PowerHome. Let me know what you'd like to do. I'll start posting formulas that run much smoother then RP. Also, I freed up 50% memory for vital funtions within ELK.

I will be in time. The new home construction is now on it's 11th month and is still not yet done (another 2 months maybe).

Prior to taking my system offline, I had PH and Elk "sort of" working togther, but that was before the latest PH version that supported the Elk much better.

I sure can't wait to get it back online. I too would like to see more posts in this section to help optimize PH/Elk integration.

Steve

Good to know, I have lots to learn, and it would be great if you could post formula's and examples the demonstrate how the two work together.

Thanks,

Dave

Once the ELK controller is configured and working, you can set up your Analog I/O with your hardwired and wireless zones. If you have Zone 4 wired up and working on ELK, try this in the Analog I/O section:

ID Descrip      I/O  &n bsp;    Controller Unit Point Loc Message

4   LV Motion   Elk Input ELK-INTERFACE 1 4 Living rm Motion

I named my ELK Controller (under setup/controller) ELK-INTERFACE.

Now on device status, you can view the entire house status and see the changes in real time.

I must be getting tired... Can you explain this to me?...... And, How do I get the zones from the elk into PH? I want to be able to control events with the changes of zones. Thanks

the 1 4    constitutes that point code 4 on the main board (1) is Hardwire Zone 4. Check out the help section under powerhome for a better understanding of point codes.

Dave is writing an officially "How-TO" so that we all can understand the way ELK and PH speak to each other.

i'd like to use powerhome to configure my insteon 2414S controller and then populate that configuration into my ELK. from what i'd read elsewhere, powerhome makes this process easy. is that true? are there directions on how to do this anywhere?

thanks in advance.

i haven't determined yet if i want to keep a pc running all the time vs programming everything in the ELK.

I'm using PH for linking and transferring the Insteon address to the Elk. After that, the Elk is used for all other lighting and control. A lot of my lighting is controlled by motion detectors through the Elk to Insteon. There is some delay in this but it may be that I need to use Groups, which i am not sure how to do yet. Other than that, it works well.
